I have served in ministry for nearly 25 years and have had the privilege of leading worship and teams of volunteers in church planting environments and in one of the largest churches in the country and in most everything in between. I am very proud and humbled by, but never surprised at how God has guided my journey using all my life experiences to develop me as a leader and how He has then used me to impact the kingdom. Here are a few quick facts about me:

I served as a worship leader for more than 10,000 people at McLean Bible Church where I led multiple creative teams of staff and volunteers and integrated the creative process with creative and technical teams

I have recorded several nationally released albums

I was nominated for a Dove Award

I work as a consultant and coach to worship leaders around the country with TAG Consulting

Most of my ministry background is in leading worship ministries and teams. I have learned that musical talent is not enough to grow and maintain a healthy worship ministry. Effective leadership begins with the people and processes designed to ensure the success of every volunteer’s ministry within our influence and ends with the service itself. After more than six years of consulting with churches and worship leaders, I have discovered that we generally spend 95% of our time and energies on the service and 5% on creating the systems and processes to lead people well.

The Process

Our network will meet once each month where we will address the group’s actual issues beyond theory within the framework below. I will follow up individually after each workshop twice/month for personalized coaching. Our intensives will be focused around the following schedule.

            Identify your personal strengths and lead yourself and your volunteers well

Month 2: Worship Leading

            Create an exciting and inclusive atmosphere of worship

Month 3: REP – receive a tested system for Recruiting, Equipping and Placing volunteers

Build effective creative and worship teams, and discover the difference between compliant, conscripted and committed volunteers and how to lead them

Month 4: Lab and Ministry Works

Manage the tension between getting things done and planning for the future

Month 5: The Matrix – we’ll develop your own scalable project management system

            Design a systemic solution to creative brainstorming, planning and execution

Month 6: Digging Holes vs. Filling Holes

Acquire the single most counterintuitive leadership tool that will transform your ministry from maintenance to momentum to growth
